Trackside signaling.
Now in the cockpit, too.

VEXIL supports race control with a layer of technological redundancy designed for the most demanding operating conditions: top speeds, multi-post coverage, objective audit trail of every decision.

Motorsport is faster,
more crowded, more documented
than ever.

Flags remain the sovereign tool of race control. VEXIL is designed to add technological redundancy and objective traceability to the race director's decisions, without changing anything about the way they work.

55
Metres per second
At 200 km/h a car covers 55 metres every second. Operating distances shrink. Required reaction speed grows.

The conditions in which marshals and race control must operate today are more demanding than ever: extended coverage across multiple posts, variable weather, increasing demands for reporting from teams and federations. A layer of technical redundancy is now expected by professional teams.

01

Extreme speeds

Modern cars reach peaks over 250 km/h even in amateur categories. The useful window for each signal compresses. Technical redundancy becomes a safety multiplier.

02

Extended coverage

Modern circuits, karting facilities and rally stages require multiple coordinated posts. The race director needs a tool that unifies in real time what is happening across all sectors.

03

Environmental conditions

Rain, fog, incident smoke, direct sun on the visor: variables that affect trackside operations. A parallel technological channel is never affected by these conditions.

04

Documentation demand

Teams, sponsors, federations demand objective reporting of every race decision. Timestamp, duration, target of every signal, GPS position of the car at the moment of the event.

What VEXIL adds to race control

+

Technical redundancy

Every flag shown is simultaneously notified to the driver's cockpit via a dedicated radio channel. Zero interference with the current operational flow.

Objective audit trail

Every event recorded with millisecond timestamp, target, GPS position. Exportable PDF report at the end of the session for teams, federations, appeals.

Unified view

Race control dashboard with live map, event log, temporal replay. One more tool to coordinate sectors without changing current procedures.

One system, four components,
zero operational changes.

VEXIL is an integrated hardware-software ecosystem that starts from the marshal's gesture and reaches the driver's cockpit in less than a second, simultaneously generating an objective record of every event for race control.

Smart flag

The marshal holds the flag exactly as today. Internal inertial sensors automatically recognize the gesture of exposure, waving or resting.

Post rack

Each trackside post has a rack that identifies which flag has been extracted and in what state it is being shown. One self-sufficient unit per sector.

Cockpit tracker

Small unit with LED display mounted on the vehicle. Receives only signals relevant to the sector the car is currently transiting through.

Race control dashboard

Web interface for race control with live sector view, timestamped event log, temporal replay, PDF export for reporting.

In three steps,
fully automatic.

No button to press, no central operator, no additional procedure compared to today. The marshal continues to work exactly as always. VEXIL amplifies the gesture.

1

The marshal shows the flag

They pull the flag from the rack and perform the standard gesture. The system recognizes identity, state and reference sector.

2

The tracker receives

Every car transiting the sector sees the signal on the LED display of its own tracker. Typical latency below 1 second.

3

The dashboard records

Every event enters the log with timestamp, GPS position of involved cars, exposure duration. PDF report at the end of the session.

Everything that happens,
visible at a glance.

The dashboard is an operational tool designed for the race director. It doesn't make decisions on their behalf: it gives them a unified view of what's happening across sectors and a complete record of everything that has been decided.

VEXIL Race Director Dashboard — live circuit view with flag sectors, pit lane zone, car trackers

Live map

Topographic circuit view with sectors coloured by flag state, updated in real time at every event.

Event log

Chronological timeline of every signal with millisecond timestamp, target, duration, GPS coordinates.

Temporal replay

Scrubber to review any moment of the session. Fundamental for post-race analysis and appeals.

Final report

Structured PDF export at the end of the session: every event, every car, every time. Ready to hand over.

Statistics

Charts for most-shown flag, most active sector, car reaction times. Trend analysis over time.

Multi-PC

The same dashboard is visible on multiple stations simultaneously: director, deputy, safety, team briefing.

One system, many scenarios.

VEXIL is modular and adapts to different configurations: from small karting facilities to large permanent racetracks, from rally stages to motorcycling categories.

01 · Circuits

Permanent racetracks

Multi-sector coverage on long circuits, integration with existing timing systems, management of multiple sessions in a day.

02 · Karting

Professional karting facilities

High vehicle density, short but intense sessions, need for precise tracking in training races and youth championships.

03 · Rally

Rally special stages

Posts distributed along open stages, spectator safety, critical documentation for zone flags.

04 · Motorcycling

Motorcycling

High speed, reduced rider visibility of physical flags, maximum benefit from the redundant cockpit channel.

05 · Federations

Federations and stewards

Objective reporting standard, exportable data for sports commissions, trend analysis across race series.

06 · Private

Track day events

Track days by professional teams, sports driving courses, club events with safety requirements analogous to official racing.

Answers to the most common questions.

Does VEXIL replace physical flags?

No, under no circumstances. VEXIL is a layer of technological redundancy that supports the existing system. Physical flags remain the sovereign tool of race control and nothing changes in the current marshals' workflow. VEXIL detects what happens and amplifies it to the cockpit and dashboard.

What happens if the race control PC shuts down?

Sector flags continue to reach drivers. The system is designed so that the dashboard is never in the safety-critical path: all flags start from physical extraction from the racks and continue to work even if the dashboard is offline. The dashboard is optimized for audit trail and coordination, not for the critical channel.

How long does pre-event setup take?

Approximately 30 minutes for a standard event. The racks are positioned at the posts, the trackers are mounted on the vehicles (magnetic or strap), the gateway is switched on in race control. Everything plug & play, no configuration required.

Do we need internet access at the circuit?

No. The system works entirely in local mode: proprietary radio communication between racks, trackers and gateway. The dashboard runs on the race control PC without cloud dependencies. A fundamental requirement of professional motorsport: zero dependence on external connectivity.

Is the system certified for official race use?

The hardware uses pre-certified radio modules and the platform is undergoing CE certification. The technology is subject to Italian patent application no. 102026000021319 (filed on 22/07/2026). For specific federation approvals, we are in contact with the relevant technical commissions.

How are post-race appeals handled?

Every event is recorded with millisecond timestamp, GPS coordinates of the vehicle at the time of the signal, duration, target. The final PDF report is the objective source for stewards, teams and federation. A level of technical evidence that no other tool offers today.

What is the commercial model?

VEXIL is offered in per-event rental mode: complete supply (racks, flags, trackers for all vehicles, gateway, dashboard, on-site technical support) on a per-event basis. Formula designed for organizers who want to try without a purchase investment.

Want to see it in action?

VEXIL is being introduced to racetracks, federations and motorsport event organizers. We arrange dedicated demos at your circuit or during one of your events.
